Dr. Shohei Mori is a Junior Research Group Leader of the Mediated Reality Group at the Visualization Research Center (VISUS) and the Cluster of Excellence IntCDC , University of Stuttgart, Germany. He also serves as a Guest Associate Professor (Global) at Keio University , Japan, and is a member of the Stuttgart Research Focus Re/producing Realities (Re2) .
His research focuses on 3D vision for XR (with “X” representing any kind of reality). He addresses challenges in vision and graphics with a strong emphasis on human-centered computing. His work has been published in top-tier conferences and journals, including IEEE ISMAR, IEEE VR, ACM CHI, ACM UIST, ACM VRST, and IEEE TVCG. has received several prestigious awards, including the IEEE VR Best Paper Award (2022), IEEE ISMAR Best Paper Awards (2021, 2023), IEEE ISMAR Best Demo Award (2015), and the SIG-MR Award (2025). He served as an Associate Paper Co-Chair for IEEE ISMAR 2025 and currently serves as a Program Co-Chair for IEEE VR 2026.
